The middle order has been a major concern for the Indian ODI team. With Shreyas Iyer and KL Rahul out injured, players like Suryakumar Yadav and Hardik Pandyak have had to contend with confusion from the management due to their lack of success in the West Indies contest.

Fans were also concerned about the possibility of Iyer and Rahul missing the Asia Cup due to their delayed recovery. However, Dravid confirmed that both the top players are expected to make a comeback in the tournament on Sunday.

In the post-match interview, Dravid suggested that Iyer and Rahul would be the first to get an opportunity as the team heads towards the ODI World Cup when asked by a Nepalese reporter about India’s potential experimentation in the Asia Cup.

He stated that they need to give some players the chance to play once they recover from injury. “I haven’t thought about Asia Cup yet,” he said.

India to conduct the Asia Cup camp at NCA.

Dravid stated that India’s probable contenders for the Asia Cup will convene at the NCA in Bengaluru a week later to prepare for their competition before heading to Sri Lanka.

“We have a few days off and then we will be setting up camp at the NCA in Bengaluru from the 23rd. We will gather as ONE team to prepare for the Asia Cup, and we’ll take it as we go.”

The Asia Cup will kick off with India’s first match against Pakistan in Pallekel on September 2 and their next group game against Nepal is scheduled for September 4.
