Jio phones are reportedly carrying out BIS certification, suggesting an imminent launch in India.

Reliance is reportedly planning to introduce two Jio smartphones in the Indian market soon. Although no official announcement has been made regarding them, they have been certified by the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) website, suggesting an impending release. The company is set to hold its Annual General Meeting (AGM) on August 28th and will announce the Ji phone offerings during the event.

Mukul Sharma (@stufflistings) posted a screenshot of the listing of handsets with model numbers JBV161W1 and JVB162W1, which has been granted approval by BIS on Friday, August 11. The listing does not include any information about the smartphones’ specifications.

Reliance Jio has not disclosed any information about the launch of new JiƓ Phones. The 46th AGM of Reliant Industries is scheduled for August 28 at 2:00pm IST, and Relief Industries Chairman Akash Ambani is set to give an update on Jiotro PhoneS.

The Jio Phones have been rumored to be in circulation for some time. A JiO Phone with the model number Jioul LS1654QB5 was observed on the Geekbench benchmarking platform last year, featuring an Adreno 619 GPU, 4GB of RAM, and Snapdragon 480+ SoC.

Previous leaks have claimed that the upcoming 5G handset will have 32GB of internal storage and a 13-megapixel dual rear camera unit. It is expected to come with an 8-MP selfie shooter and operate on 6.5-inch HD+ LCD display with resolving time delay, as well as supporting 18W charging.

The 5G-enabled phone is estimated to have a price tag of Rs. 8,000 to Rs, 12,000. CounterPoint Research’s report states this.
