Rahul Dravid and VVS Laxman are no longer part of Team India’s T20I squad, resulting in the appointment of a new coach for the tournament.

India’s T20I team is heading to Ireland for a new tour. However, the Indian cricket team has been given pause by head coach Rahul Dravid, and VVS Laxman will not be accompanying him on the tour as former domestic sensation Sitanshu Kotak has taken up the position of head coaching role for this young Indian team.

Laxman was rumored to be in the running for the head coaching role of the Indian team as they embark on a three-week tour of Ireland. Instead, he will be absent from the highly anticipated training camp near Bengaluru during the Ireland T20Is that start on August 18.

Sairaj Bahutule is reportedly set to become the team’s new bowling coach, alongside Kotak.

According to a source who spoke to Times of India, Kotak and Sairaj Bahutule will be joining Jasprit Bumrah & Co for the three-match T20I series from August 18-23. Laxman will also be leading the high-performance camp from around August 16 to September 5, where BCCI has already recruited young players such as Abhishek Sharma, Dhruv Jurel, Riyan Parag, Prabhsimran Singh, Sain Barraşi, Akash Singh

The series, which may involve just T20Is, is crucial for the Indian team management, especially with Jasprit Bumrah’s return, and will feature exciting young players like Ruturaj Gaikwad, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Rinku Singh, Jitesh Sharma, etc.
