The Chennai Concert of AR Rahman is cancelled due to rain, while Stalin pledges to build on the existing infrastructure.

The concert that AR Rahman was due to take place on Saturday was cancelled due the heavy rainfall. He mentioned that the event had to be canceled because of the poor weather. However, the concert will be postponed in the near future.

Rahman had shared on Twitter, X, that he was “excited” about his Chennai concert and wanted to meet his fans. He urged people to leave early and secure their seats for a fantastic time.

The artist kept the fans informed about the cancellation of his concert shortly after. He stated that due to unfavorable weather conditions and persistent rains, it is advisable to postpone it until the nearest best date with the guidance of statutory authorities. Rahman expressed his desire for the state government to assist in constructing a superior infrastructure for art, mega shows, and international experiences in Chennai by responding to X.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin responded to Rahman’s post by mentioning that the Kalaignar Convention Centre, which is situated on ECR, will be a world-class facility for organizing events like concerts, exhibitions, and other large-scale concerts.

Chennai is soon to fulfill its dream with the establishment of a world-class convention center on ECR, which will offer large format concerts, performances, events, and conventions. The venue will include iconic landscaping, hotels, food courts, etc.

The core will be equipped with iconic landscapes, food courts, hotels, parking facilities, and excellent transportation connections, making it the cultural symbol of the city.

Rahman uploaded a photo on Instagram of the venue, which shows the entire area partially submerged in water due to heavy rainfall.

Rahman shared his excitement of celebrating 30 years of his career in the industry with an India Today article, “Rahman was a standout at the ARR Film Festival from August 4 to August 9 last year.” He expressed his gratitude for the love and support he received from those who were kind.

The artist’s initial work was the film ‘Roja’ released in 1992.
