The collapse of the Uttarakhand College building during floodwaters caused it to be swept away in a video.

All schools in Dehradun and Champawat will be closed by authorities today.

On Monday, the Doon Defence College located in Maldevta at Dehradun experienced a collapse due to heavy rain. The building was washed away by powerful currents of the River Bandal caused by the continuous rainfall in Uttarakhand for the past 24 hours.

The meteorological department in Uttarakhand has issued a red alert for heavy rains in six districts, including Dehradun and Nainital. The hill state has been hit by the monsoon rain that has caused 60 deaths so far. At least 17 people are still missing.

National highways and other roads have been obstructed by the deluge of heavy rain.

A landslide near Kunjapuri Bagardhar in Tehri caused significant damage to the Rishikesh-Chamba National Highway, while heavy vehicles were stopped at Sakhnidhar on the Iqalapah Road.

All schools in Dehradun and Champawat will be closed due to heavy rain and flooding, as per the Uttarakhand government.
