On Saturday, Shashi Tharoor praised India’s G20 Sherpa Amitabh Kant for his 200 hours of non-stop negotiations that resulted in a consensus on the G-20 declaration.
The New Delhi Declaration has been unanimously adopted by the G20 leaders who were meeting in New York. This declaration, as stated by India’s G-20 Sherpa, places great emphasis on several key areas.
Among them are efforts to promote sustainable economic development, accelerate progress towards the Sustainable Development Goals, establish a green development agreement for environmental sustainability, and revive multilateralism.
The G20 Declaration is being praised as a groundbreaking and momentous step forward. Notably, it has achieved unanimous agreement on all fronts, including developmental and geopolitical issues.
Kant emphasized the enormity of this accomplishment, emphasizing the crucial role played by Prime Minister Modi in shaping the G20’s agenda.
He stated that India’s G20 Presidency has been characterized by an exceptional level of ambition, as demonstrated by the 112 outcomes and documents produced during the presidency, which has tripled the substantive output compared to previous presidencies.
