Apple has been rumored to be considering USB Type-C charging for the iPhone 15 series in line with EU regulations since the release of the iOS 14. However, recent reports suggest that some of these current models of iPhone 14 will also have new charging ports.
With the approaching September, Apple enthusiasts are getting ready to embrace the iPhone 15 and its anticipated advancement in USB-C charging. While many have speculated about the new device’s replacement for the Lightning port, recent reports suggest a more widespread transformation that could impact additional iPhones.

The tweet from @aaronp613 has caused a new level of excitement as it disclosed that the tvOS 17 beta code contained references not only to the iPhone 15 but also to six other devices.

This, in particular, seems to suggest that Apple may just be able to pull the plug on its iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone Pro Max when the iPhone 15 launches next year – which would “come as a logical conclusion for Apple,” whereby older model versions of their flagship Pro models would step aside and compete directly with each other without any competition from competitors.
Apple’s decision to use USB-C charging with the iPad Pro in 2018 signaled a change in expectations and hints that the Lightning cable may no longer be an option. Regrettably, while all other iPad models have adopted USB–C chargers, the iPhone has remained attached to the original Lightning port.
The European Union (EU) has been instrumental in driving this change, as they have recently enforced a requirement that all consumer electronics must use standardized USB-C charging ports. This regulation, which was put into effect last year, mandates tech giants to comply by 2024 or face competition in the EU market.
