The official cause of death of Leandro, Robert De Niro’s 19-year-old grandson, has been disclosed a month after his tragic passing.
The chief medical examiner of New York City has concluded that Leandro’s death was caused by an accidental overdose resulting from the toxic effects of fentanyl, bromazolam, alprazolami, 7-aminoclonazepam and ketamine, as well as cocaine.
The actor Leandro passed away on July 2 in NYC. His daughter Drena, who is 51 years old, shared the tragic news on Instagram after his death.
“I can’t express how much love I have for you, my dear friend. You are the sweetest thing ever.”
In a statement, Drena conveyed to ET that she is deeply saddened by the loss of her son Leo. She expressed her appreciation for the overwhelming love and support received from everyone and requested privacy to move past this inconsolable grief.
The mother who was grieving at the time later disclosed her alleged cause of death.
In an Instagram post, Drena remarked that someone sold him pills containing fentanyl that they knew were laced, but still sold them to the individual. A follower asked, “OMG, why? How did you do it?”
“My son is no longer here with me, despite the fact that people are still engaging in sales and buying stuff,” she added with a somber emoji.
ET) De Niro spoke out after the death of his grandson.
