The statement “Engines may fail despite sensors” suggests that Isro is planning for the proper touchdown of Chandrayaan-3’s ‘Vikram’ lander.

The ISRO Chief is certain that the Vikram lander will not crash during the Chandrayaan-3 mission, even with its speed of 3m/sec.

The Indian space agency’s chief, S Somanath, stated that the Vikram lander is designed to make a smooth landing on the moon even if its sensors or engines fail.
