In a tweet, Ramesh Bala shared that Marimuthu, renowned Tamil actor, had suffered cardiac arrest and had gained immense popularity for his TV series dialogues. He also mentioned that he was only 57 years old.

According to the portal, Marimuthu began his career as a hotel waiter before meeting lyricist Vairamuthu and eventually working with Rajkiran as an assistant director on films such as Aranmanai Kili (1993) and Ellame En Rasathan (1995). He also worked as both an Assistant Director and collaborating with other notable filmmakers, including Mani Ratnam, Vasanth, Seeman, and SJ Surya. He was also involved in co-directing Silambarasan’s Manmadhan.
