The Thunder Over Michigan air show at Willow Run Airport in Ypsilanti featured jet crashes.

A fighter jet that was performing at an air show near Willow Run Airport crashed on Sunday, shortly after a pilot and crew member were ejected from the aircraft.

The airport was the site of Thunder Over Michigan on Sunday, with several aircraft, including the MiG-23 plane, executing different flight maneuvers.

Local 4 was notified by a spokesperson for the event that the MiG-23 plane crashed into the parking lot at Waverly on the Lake Apartments in Van Buren Township.

The pilot and one of the crew members who were in the jet were safely ejected and found. They were taken to a local hospital and are expected to be in good condition.

The plane collided with vacant vehicles in the parking lot of the apartment complex. Neither the air show nor the same person was hurt.

The FAA is looking into the crash. The cause of the accident is yet to be determined.

The Thunder Over Michigan event, which was scheduled to end on Sunday after its first day and ended earlier in the week for the 25th year, was canceled due to the crash.
